This Bulgarian ski party capital is jammed packed with incredible all night bars to sip yourselves merry. There are no dress code requirements, so fancy dress is not a problem. There are also no entry fees into the bars, pubs and lap dancing clubs, which means stags can make a very interesting après bar crawl.
From retro fitted pubs to Russian Glitz & glamour, there will be a pub to fit your thirst. White Magic
The owner little Mario is an ex-pro skier and is a real personality. He’ll happily talk about his fascinating career and show you his prized ski vests pinned on the walls of the White Magic bar restaurant. It’s not a huge space, but Mario is worth the meet and greet. So White Magic has to be on the list of Borovets best pubs. If stoppinh for food, we can recommend the Greek Salad, the mushroom risotto, the roast beef dinner and any of their pizzas.
Bobby’s bar
Bobby and Kas are the owners and have been running a superb venue for many years. You’ll like the traditional alpine style, with a large open fire and has a large outside terrace with lighting and patio heaters. The brand new gourmet menu is very good, offering some Black Sea coast specialties. However, our two favoutite things at Bobby’s bar are the Fajitas and their Bulgarian cherry cider. This is one of the best pubs in Borovets. Good food, good drinks, good times! Bobby’s bar will be the perfect cocktail for your ski stag weekends in Borovets.
BJs bar
For the best and cheapest cocktails, with almost a constant happy hour then head to BJs bar. We’ve probably done more man-hours here than on the ski slopes. It’s pretty much 2 4 1 drinks all the time, with nice friendly staff giving off the good-time vibes. If you come to party this is a must stop on your Borovets pub crawl and you have to play the log & nail game. Although, we haven’t had many evening meals here, we’ve had plenty of quality breakfasts. BJs is right by the gondola. So we eat a big breakie and then hit the slopes. BJs Bar is always on point for being called the best bar in Borovets. Hen & ski stag dos are welcome, just bring the fun not the trouble.
Titanic bar
This is the place where drinks go down, by the burning log fire. The Titanic memorabilia adorns the walls and the vibes are generally good. You can definitely re-charge your batteries before another ski run, drinks and food are solid. We’d recommend the pizza or chicken curry as their best offerings. For hen & stag dos the cocktail list is pretty extensive, but our favourite drink is their famous hot chocolate or Irish coffee. Drinks slip down very easily at the Titanic bar, so its worth adding to your Borovets nightlife wish list. Staff are very welcoming and the venue is easy to find at the button lift nursery slope. The only real negative of the Titanic bar is the toilet, which has seen better seas.
After Eleveven (hotel Rila nightclub)
After Eleveven is the best nightclub in Borovets, located in the very heart of the resort. Enjoy live music, some of the best local DJs, running from 11pm – to 4 am. For sure, you’ll fall in love with this club on first sight, with its funky lighting, nice furnishings and great tunes. It’s a far cry from other clubs in town. We’d say that it has the best selection of Bulgarian & international beers to make your bearded hipster friends happy. This is a superb nightclub to rub shoulders with the beautiful Balkan locals, hot ski instructors and the loud hen groups. Eleveven might be a nightclub, but with free entry it can be classed as one of Borovets best bars. Definitely drop some shapes here and party till the break of dawn.
Red Lion
On the main street, you can’t miss the Red Lion. With DJ Viktor holding down the wheels of steel, you are always guaranteed a fun night of dodgy dad dancing and group sing-a-longs. It’s also a great place to watch sport, with a big screen and live sports on constant play. If the 6 Nations is playing, this is the place to watch. Football fans can catch all the big games, at Borovets number one sports bar. Combine Dj Viktor and their Bulgarian Sambuca freebees, the Red Lion is a Borovets nightlife must-try. Our food top tips have to be the XXL chicken skewer. It’s the biggest and best we’ve ever tried.
Malina bar
Near the sledging slope, you’ll find Malina bar. It’s a real hidden treat and we can’t recommend it enough. It definitely had to make the list of best bars in Borovets. The main host is Dimitri and he sees that everyone is happy with their drinks and food. Although for the kids, he does although the odd ski stag do free rides on his sledges. Malina bar has the right balance of food and drink atmosphere and should be included on your apres ski hit list. If stopping for food, we recommend the Big Mac.
Sunnys bar (breakfast and pizza are good)
This is a cosy bar with really friendly staff and although relatively small in size, we say it’s a must stop during your skiing stag weekend in Borovets. Found next to hotel Ela, you’ll enjoy reasonably priced drinks and very tasty food. Our top tip is to order the Argentinian steak. It comes with an enormous pile of gorgeous rustic chips, fresh mushrooms, tomato, coleslaw and a mixed side salad. Our skiing stag parties have also reviewed favourably the missippi mushroom burger and the big breakfasts. The Sunnys bar staff are very nice and don’t be surprised to find a tray of free shots whether you come for a drink or stop to eat a home made pizza. Sunnys might not win the best pub in Borovets, but it wins best Chunky chips and cozy vibes.
Black Tiger (karaoke bar)
This is the fun factory stacked with Bulgarian and international vodkas, perfect for the ski stag nights and those boozey Borovets pub crawls. If you like your spirits strong and your legs wobbly, Black Tiger bar is a firm favourite. Soak up the local drinking culture early doors, then get ready for a nightclub atmosphere come midnight. 2-4-1 cocktails occur all day everyday for about 9lv and this is the best place for karaoke. So send the groom on his first dare, and get him to sing and serenade a lucky punter. If you are going to stay and eat, we recommend the grilled sausages and calzone pizza!
OTP Apres Ski Bar & BBQ
Try the hippest place in town at the OTP apres ski bar. The DJ is on point, cutting ‘n’ blending deep house to party breaks and the bar staff are serving up some extra strength cocktails. You can literally ski in and out of this place, which helps the thirsty groom get his cold beer fix. OTP is definitely fast becoming the best bar in Borovets if you like your venues trendy & modern. It wouldn’t be out of place in some of the more high end Austrian resorts in. Enjoy good food from big meat mains to organic nibbles. Our top tip is the chili nachos and try the delicious chicken soup. We say come to OTP for the nicest loos in town, easy going staff, strong G&Ts and a DJ that knows his tunes. If booking onto the Borovets pub crawl and apres nightlife sessions, you won’t be taken here. So breakout and try it for yourselves.
The Terrace bar (Hotel Rila)
While some stag weekends shy away from cocktails, we certainly don’t. And one of the best places to get your fix of booze added with booze, is at The Terrace Bar. Enjoy fine cocktail mixing by knowledgeable barmen who know their liquor. If James Bond was to delve into the apres-ski of Borovets and order his usual ‘shaken not stirred’ he would be doing it here on The Terrace. For the lads, wishing to refine their ski stag holiday in Bulgaria, then take a seat at the Terrace and enjoy the epic views. This is the right place for daytime drinking sessions with a touch of class.
Wipeout BG
Relatively new on the scene, but definitely gets onto our list of best pubs in Borovets. It’s a tiny space, close to the gondola but is clean and spotless. Its definitely a small oasis with clean toilets. They have a snowboard and ski school in the basement, with the restaurant and bar over the next 2 floors. On the night te music is thumping out and vibes are great for a smaller sized stag party. If stopping there for food, we recommend the potatoes covered in cheese and bacon.
Francos
The food is average but the Franco music parties are brilliant. They do a large range of cocktails here from 7.99 Lev (just over £3.00), as well as the usual range of international beers and top shelf spirits. What makes Francos stand out is the pumping music vibes, poles to swing on and fun bartenders. It’s also opposite to a popular Borovets strip club, so you’ll never lose track of your friends. Occassionally there is live entertainment, but mainly its dance music banging out the big hit anthems.
Buzz Bar
Buzz Bar is the most well known night club in Borovets, located on the main shopping street of Borovets. Its not a massive place, split into two areas. The first space is the calmer part with tables and chairs, then follow the loud music to the back and find the disco area. Find hen and stag dos doing some back to back partying, where balkan dance meets hip-hop classics. We tend to go here from 10pm to midnight which is the happy hour. Buy 1 get 1 free on special drinks and bottled beer. Buzz bar isn’t classy, but it’s a right royal knees up ‘lets have some fun’ place.
